How it works

Five minutes, three small things

Daily Remembrance is the day’s practice: a dhikr, an ayah, and an honest line in the Muhasaba.

1

Make dhikr

A short remembrance to start on, in Arabic with the English beside it and the meaning underneath — so you know what you are saying, not only how it sounds.

2

Sit with an ayah

One verse, full-screen over real imagery, with its surah and number so you can always find it again. Keep it, share it, or set it where you will see it.

3

Take the account

Muhasaba is the oldest habit in the book: a short, private reckoning of your own day. One prompt, one line — and months later, a record only you can read.

Everything in the app

A companion for every prayer and every season

The dhikr is the front door. What keeps people in the app is everything built around it.

Dhikr around the prayer times

Set your city and your madhab and the app works out today’s prayer times for you, then places its reminders around them — including a set number of minutes before Fajr.

Arabic, with the meaning beside it

Every dhikr and every ayah carries its Arabic, an English rendering and its reference — so nothing is recited blind and everything can be checked.

Ramadan, when it comes

The app knows the season: reminder behaviour shifts for Ramadan, including the pre-Fajr window when you actually need it.

A private Muhasaba

A prompt, a state of heart, and a line of your own. It is stored under your account and nobody else reads it — that is rather the point.

Your Heart’s Journey

Your own entries, charted — so a heavy week reads as a dip on a line rather than a verdict on your deen.

Ayat on your Lock Screen

A widget on the iPhone Lock Screen and Home Screen, and on Android’s home screen — a fresh remembrance a day, without opening the app.

Guided reflection & sound

Guided audio with a real player — shuffle, repeat, a scrub bar and background playback — and a browsable sound library to sit underneath it.

Collections & history

Keep the adhkar that carried you, group them into collections, and find anything again from a searchable history.

Your Muhasaba is between you and Allah

What you write is stored under your own account so it follows you to a new phone, and that is all it is used for. It is not read for advertising, not used to train anything, and not shared. You can delete the account, and everything in it, from inside the app.

Qur’an & dhikr

One ayah, understood

A whole juz before work is a lot to ask. One ayah, in Arabic, with the English beside it and the reference under it, is not — and it is far more likely to still be with you by Asr.

  • Always referenced Surah and ayah number on the card, so you can open the mushaf and check it yourself.
  • Browse by topic or theme Patience, provision, forgiveness — or change the whole look of the feed from the Themes picker.
  • Sound underneath, or none A browsable audio library sits behind the practice, including a silent option when you want the words bare.
  • Keep it or send it Save an ayah into a collection, share it with someone who needs it, or save the image for your own screen.

Muhasaba

Take the account before you are asked for it

Muhasaba is not a mood tracker borrowed from somewhere else — it is the old practice of holding yourself to account at the end of a day. Noor just makes it small enough to actually do, and keeps the record so you can look back honestly.

  • A prompt instead of a blank page You are answering a question, not staring at an empty box after Isha.
  • Your Heart’s Journey Charted from your own entries, over weeks, so you can see the shape of a season rather than one bad night.
  • Morning, afternoon, evening Today’s entries side by side — the shape of a single day, not just its average.
  • It has its own streak Muhasaba is tracked separately, so the habit builds even on days the rest does not happen.

Widgets

Remembrance, without opening anything

The hardest part of dhikr is remembering to make it. A widget removes that step entirely: the ayah is simply there when you pick up your phone, and one tap opens it in full.

  • Lock Screen and Home Screen Small and medium widgets on the iPhone Home Screen, a rectangular one on the Lock Screen from iOS 16, and a resizable widget on Android.
  • Arabic, rendered properly The widget carries the Arabic and its reference, not a transliteration standing in for it.
  • A new one every day Chosen from the same pool as the app, refreshed once a day, and picked up again if a refresh is missed.
  • Tap through to the source The widget deep-links to that exact remembrance, not just to the app’s home screen.

FAQ

Questions, answered

The things people ask before they download.

From the city you set and the madhab you choose, using a standard prayer-time calculation. Noor uses them to place its dhikr reminders around your day — it is a remembrance companion, not an adhan app, so please keep using your usual source for the times you pray by.
Every ayah carries its surah and number, so you can always look it up in the translation and tafsir you trust. The English in the app is a rendering of the meaning, not a substitute for the Arabic — which is why the Arabic is always shown with it. If something looks wrong to you, please tell us and we will check it.
No. Noor is a personal remembrance aid, not a source of fatwa and not a replacement for your own teachers or community. You can pick your madhab for the prayer-time calculation, but nothing in the app is offered as a religious ruling.
No. The Qur’anic text is the Qur’anic text, and the dhikr and reflections are prepared in advance by people. There is no AI model in the app and nothing is generated while you use it. What the app personalises is which ones you are shown, based on what you chose during setup.
The reminder behaviour shifts for the month, including the pre-Fajr window — you choose how many minutes before Fajr you want it, which is the setting that actually matters when you are up for suhoor.
Yes — it is what keeps your Muhasaba, your collections and your journey when you change phone. You can sign up with an email address, or continue with Google or Apple. You can delete the account and everything in it from inside the app: see Delete your account.
The app is free to download and full access comes with a subscription. Prices, any introductory offer and renewal terms are set and billed by the App Store or Google Play, so the exact figures are always the ones on the purchase screen in your region. Cancel any time from Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription — cancel first, then delete.
